You'll usually notice the Corrupted Root problem at the worst possible time: right when a new upgrade path opens up, your stash is full of half-finished pieces, and your Diablo 4 gear suddenly needs more work than expected. The mistake a lot of players make is treating this material like something that drops well from casual map roaming. It doesn't feel good that way. You want short bursts of killing, plenty of elites, and routes where events keep feeding you enemies instead of making you ride across empty ground.

Farm where the map stays busy
Hawezar is still a smart place to check when you're low on Corrupted Roots, especially around the swampier zones where packs tend to sit close together. Don't turn it into a sightseeing trip, though. Hit public events, clear elite clusters, grab nearby objectives, then move. If a section feels dead, leave it. A tight loop around active events will beat a slow full clear almost every time. It's not glamorous farming, but it works because you're cutting out the boring bits that don't pay.

Pick dungeons you can bully
Nightmare Dungeons are worth running, but only if you're honest about your clear speed. The best tier isn't always the highest one your character can survive. If you're stopping every pull, waiting on cooldowns, or kiting one elite around a room, you're probably wasting time. Drop the tier a little and choose dungeons with simple paths, packed rooms, and not much backtracking. Fast clears stack up materials faster than heroic, messy clears where half the run is spent walking through empty halls.

Use Helltides as a farming backbone
When Helltides are active, build your route around them. They're useful because you're not just hunting one thing. You're getting elite kills, event rewards, cinders, gear, gold, and sometimes Whisper progress at the same time. That overlap matters. Focus on events and elite patrols first, then spend your cinders on the chests that fit your current goal. If Whispers are sitting inside the same Helltide area, grab them while you're there. It's one of the easiest ways to make a farming session feel less like a chore.

Keep the pace simple and steady
Your build doesn't need to be perfect, but it does need to move. Area damage, speed, and reliable resource generation matter more here than single-target boss damage. Whirlwind Barbarian, Chain Lightning Sorcerer, Shadow Necromancer, Poison Trap Rogue, and Pulverize Druid can all farm well if they're set up properly. Keep town trips short, salvage junk in batches, and don't stop for every yellow item on the ground. If your character feels underpowered, some players choose to buy cheap Diablo 4 gear to smooth out early farming, but the real difference still comes from rhythm: kill dense packs, reset fast, and avoid dead time.
